JFK Airport construction and traffic patterns continue to affect some terminals. Pickup procedures for prearranged For-Hire Vehicles (FHV) such as Rideline are not always the same as Uber and Lyft rideshare instructions. Rideline chauffeurs use the current designated FHV/passenger pickup areas and will guide you to the correct lettered or numbered spot by text. Chauffeurs cannot remain at active terminal curbs waiting for passengers, so please let your driver know once you have your baggage and are heading outside.

How to Meet Your Rideline Driver at JFK

Follow these steps after landing for a smooth, stress-free pickup — every time.

Disable Airplane Mode

As soon as you land, disable airplane mode so you can receive text updates from Rideline and your designated chauffeur with exact pickup spot instructions.

Follow Your Chauffeur’s Instructions

After baggage claim, follow your Rideline chauffeur’s terminal-specific instructions to the designated passenger/FHV pickup area. Prearranged FHV service such as Rideline may use different pickup procedures from Uber and Lyft, so do not assume app-based rideshare instructions apply to your reservation.

Find Your Spot

Locate the numbered or lettered pickup sign provided by your chauffeur, for example B4, C3, or G3. Let your chauffeur know when you are heading outside and again when you reach the spot. Chauffeurs cannot remain at an active terminal curb waiting for passengers and may need to approach once you are ready.

Text Your Driver

Once you reach the designated pickup area, text your exact sign or spot to your chauffeur. Your chauffeur will approach the terminal and pull into the appropriate pickup lane when you are ready. Check the chauffeur and vehicle details provided by Rideline before entering the vehicle.

Passenger Pickup A, B, C — after exiting, turn left and remain on the terminal side of the roadway. Do not cross the street.

After exiting Terminal 1, turn left and look for signs A, B, or C. Stay on the terminal side; there is no need to cross the street. Let your chauffeur know your sign once you are outside and ready.

Terminal 7 is currently one of the most difficult JFK pickup areas because of construction, a narrow waiting area, and congestion. Chauffeurs cannot remain there for long. Collect your baggage first, let your chauffeur know when you are heading outside, then text the A, B, or C sign where you are waiting.

Three pickup lanes operate outside Terminal 8. The first is primarily for yellow taxis; the second and third accommodate rideshare and FHV pickups. The second row uses signs A, B and C. Rideline generally recommends the less-congested third row next to the parking lot, with signs including G4, G3, G2, F1, F2 and F3.

After exiting Terminal 4, cross the first roadway to the middle island. Pickup signs include A1, A2, B3, B4, C3, C4, D3 and D4.
After collecting baggage, cross to the middle island and text your chauffeur the exact letter and number sign where you are waiting.

Terminal 4 is busy and pickup traffic can change. Wait until you have your baggage before coordinating the final approach; your chauffeur will advise if current conditions require a different meeting point.

Curbside passenger pickup signs 1–6. After collecting your baggage, head toward the passenger pickup area and text your chauffeur the sign number closest to you.

Rideline is a prearranged FHV service. Chauffeurs cannot wait at the active Terminal 5 curb, so let your chauffeur know when you have your baggage or are heading outside. This allows the vehicle to approach as you reach signs 1–6.
